RADIATION 101, RA-Di-a-tion the word and intent

Have been looking at how radiation is presented, and explained in recent centuries. What is ra-diation? How do we interact with “it.” And it with us. Also the types and spectrums of radiation. Came upon picture-book version for recent history, with nicely done primer images:
